Booking & Cancellation Policy
INSURANCE:We strongly recommend purchasing cancellation, baggage and medical (including evacuation) insurance. This insurance is available through your travel agent.
RESERVATIONS: Reservations with deposits are accepted in the order received.
DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS: In order to con firm your reservation all trips require a non-refundable 30% deposit of the trip cost. If less than 60 days, please send full payment. If the balance is not received when due WEGO reserves the right to treat the reservation as canceled. WEGO reserves the right to terminate participation on any trip if the medical form and liability waiver have not been received prior to trip departure date. Payment can be made by cheque, credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or money order.
ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation is based on shared occupancy for both lodges and tents. If you are traveling alone we will match you with a room/tent mate of the same gender if one is available. If you require a room/tent to yourself, there may be a single supplement charge of up to $75.00 dollars (camping) $300 dollars (lodge) CDN depending on how full the trip is and which trip you have joined.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS: We believe it is important that our clients understand that we commit a large segment of our trip costs well in advance of trip departure dates, and that others may have been turned away because the trip is full. Of course, we regret the receipt of any cancellations and endeavor to keep our policies as flexible and understanding as possible. Therefore, upon receiving written notice of cancellation, refunds of trip payments made will be issued in accordance with the following schedule:
For notice received:
- More than 60 days prior to departure, the non-refundable 30% deposit will be retained.
- 30 - 59 days prior to departure 50% refund of the total trip cost unless space is sold, in which case only the deposit will be retained.
- 29 days or less prior to departure the full amount will be retained unless the space is sold, in which case only the deposit will be retained.
Please note: If guest supplies replacement participant WEGO reserves the right to reject replacements on any trip if written notice is not received or if there is insufficient time to process the replacement guests registration, waiver and medical forms.
CANCELLED TRIPS: Because of the nature of operating in remote wilderness areas, WEGO reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient registration or logistical problems that may impede trip operations. A trip canceled due to insufficient registration would normally occur one month prior to departure. In such cases, a full refund will be made of the amount paid to WEGO. If any trip has to be altered or delayed beyond our reasonable control, the additional cost of changes and delays are the responsibility of the participant. No refunds will be issued for unused services, lodging, meals, transportation or charters. No amount will be refunded after the trip has departed. WEGO reserves the right to alter itineraries at any time for any reason, if the participant withdraws as a result of the alteration, no amount will be refunded.
WHALE SIGHTING GUARANTEE: On all of our Pacific Orca Lodge & Wild Orca Discovery Expeditions, if your group sees no whales, orcas, humpback, minke whales or other, you are entitled to return for another regularly scheduled trip without charge. The following terms and conditions apply. You can apply the full value of the trip to any of our regularly scheduled tours. Travel must be completed by the end of September in the year following the original trip. Replacement trip must be of the same or lesser value. This offer is non-transferable. There are no cash refunds. Unused credit will not be carried over and no cash refunds will be issued for unused credit. You are entitled to only one return trip; credits cannot be split over different trips that we offer. This guarantee does not apply to the return trip. There is only one guaranteed return trip per payment. Return bookings are subject to our regular Booking and Cancellation Policy. Change date fees may be applicable. You will be required to provide your credit card information upon booking your return trip. Your credit card will be only charged if you cancel. Charges will be in accordance with our Booking and Cancellation Policy. If you upgrade to a more expensive trip additional fees will be applicable and you will be subject to our regular payment schedule as outlined in our Booking and Cancellation Policy. Space on your return trip is subject to availability; we recommend that you book early. Whale sightings include seeing orcas, minke, humpback or other whales viewed from the kayak, water taxi or shoreline.
GUEST RESPONSIBILITY: We request that you arrive in a healthy state, with the required gear as set out on the equipment check list and an enthusiastic open mind for adventure travel. All of our trips, in some degree, have an exploratory nature to them and we ask participants to have an awareness of group harmony and willingness to laugh and have fun when encountering the unexpected. Our guides are professionals in their fields and will provide outdoor instruction as required. WEGO adventure trips require no previous experience from you unless specifically noted. A sincere self evaluation and some pre-trip conditioning can go a long way in regards to the type of experience you will have in the outdoors, and we encourage you to prepare for your adventure. It is imperative that persons with medical conditions make them known to WEGO as far in advance to trip departure as possible. You will be provided with a medical form in the registration kit and we ask that you be thorough when completing this form. Throughout your trip you will be responsible to adhere to the directions of the professional guides whom are leading the trip. This is for your safety as well as, the safety of the group and the guides. If you are asked to leave the trip for any reason, you are solely responsible for all costs incurred as a result of your actions and no refund will be given.
